The intermedia project Partly Clear draws on various meteorological methods of monitoring and predicting changes in the atmosphere. Resembling dreams more than documentation of a scientific discipline, the audio and visual materials layer in the space. Together with paper wind vanes, dysfunctional heliographs, and toy-like anti-hail rockets, they attempt to recreate the established routine that unfolds day after day at the meteorological station. Extracts from field rsearch are now reflecting in intimate, almost imperceptible gestures and oversized objects. They create a space for the solitary actor, the skywatcher, who uncompromisingly, every day, reads the measuring scales of weather instruments and inflates the weather balloon. The sense of loneliness, the repetitive gesture and the hours of waiting between each repetition, are only disturbed by the movement of the clocks hands and the ever changing movement of cloud masses high above. Hoping for an accurate forecast, the weather balloon rises higher and higher until it turns into a cluster of white pixels against a blue background.

The outlook for today is partly clear.
